QR codes: a way to stop APOSTATES !!!
by raymond frantz ininteresting meeting today.the do had the last talk and he mentioned a couple of things i have not heard before :.
1) the new lighter magazines are designed in a way to attract people to our website .
2)the ministry will change to incoprorate preacing in town centres and and with stands as in manhattan and certain brothers will be allocated to do this .so it is done now in a big scale ,organised.. 3)the qr codes at the back of the magazines are there for smart phone users to guide them directly to jw.org ,unlike bad old internet via laptops and pc's that you have to look for the website on google and sometimes end up in enemy websites that look like our website but are spreading lies about jw's (he said exactly that!

Outlaw ,you're right ,this is free advertising .I just feel sorry for them ,they managed to get 3 studies through the doors for the first time in dog's years and they tell them not to look online for enemy websites .WHAT? This is the 21st century ! These studies had question marks all over their faces and I don't personally see them getting back anytime soon.

Exlcusive Brethren back in the newspapers ,2 pages article in Dail Mail on Sunday
by raymond frantz inexlcusive brethren back in the newspapers ,2 pages article in dail mail on sunday ,the article is trying to make a point as to why we should be allowing a cult to get tax brakes as a charity .the following article is from a guardian 2007 article that describe practices similar to jw's disfellowshiping:.
"growing up in the exclusive brethren meant missing out on a lot of things other children took for granted.
it meant no tv, radio or recorded music, no pets, parties, school outings, plays or sports, no cinema, novels, magazines, no make-up or haircuts, and strict clothing rules.

Exlcusive Brethren back in the newspapers ,2 pages article in Dail Mail on Sunday ,the article is trying to make a point as to why we should be allowing a cult to get tax brakes as a charity .The following article is from a Guardian 2007 article that describe practices similar to JW's disfellowshiping:
"Growing up in the Exclusive Brethren meant missing out on a lot of things other children took for granted. It meant no TV, radio or recorded music, no pets, parties, school outings, plays or sports, no cinema, novels, magazines, no make-up or haircuts, and strict clothing rules. I was used to living a life different from those of my friends.
Even so, it struck me as strange, one morning when I was eight, that Mum wasn't trying to get me ready for school. Instead she was frantically stuffing clothes into cases. She told me I was going away. Downstairs I saw my elderly grandmother wringing her hands and protesting, but she was ignored as I was pushed through the front door and my hand taken by one of the Brethren from our local Meeting. He led me to a van in which were several other Brethren, including one of my uncles.
After what seemed like hours, we arrived at the suburban home of the Brother, his three spinster sisters, bachelor brother and ancient mother. I was taken down to the basement, which was to be my home for the foreseeable future.
I felt anxious - where was Mum? She would be along later. Where was Dad? He was unclean; I should not wish to be with him. Later, as I was tucked up on an old settee, I tried not to cry. One of the sisters read me Bible stories to help me fall asleep.
A few days later Mum arrived. She told me that the Brethren were rescuing me because Dad had left them after a disagreement over doctrine. The "Ministry" from the latest leader, Jim Taylor Jr in the US, stated Brethren could no longer eat or drink with outsiders. Dad thought it wrong that he could not share even a cup of tea with his elderly widowed mother, who lived with us but belonged to a milder sect. When he stood up in the Meeting and said he disagreed, he was excommunicated.
As the weeks passed, I missed my father dreadfully. Unknown to me, he had made me a ward of court, so the family became uneasy at giving us refuge and eventually Mum took me home. I can remember Dad returning early from work, bringing a punnet of strawberries to welcome me back. I sat on his lap and sobbed.
The nightmare was not over, though. For the next decade, life carried on much as before, but with one big difference: Mum would not eat or sleep with Dad and would barely speak to him. I was often used as an intermediary, with each trying to persuade me the other was wrong. My best friend comforted me when I was desperate with worry that my mother would die during her "fasts", when she didn't eat for days in the hope that the Lord would answer her prayers and bring Dad back to the path of righteousness.
My "worldly, unclean" schoolfriends were very sympathetic and tried to bridge the gaps in my experience by carefully recounting theirs. Sometimes I secretly watched TV or listened to records with them on the way home from school. Once they daringly arranged for me to see a film - To Kill A Mockingbird - at the local cinema during school hours.
Meanwhile Jim Taylor Jr's edicts became increasingly bizarre - Sisters had to wear their hair hanging down their backs, covered in a headscarf; all adult Brethren must be married - and then he started to go to bed with married Sisters, supposedly showing how pure he was. Eventually, in 1970, at a Meeting in Aberdeen, he appeared drunk and stated that his word was of such consequence that the Bible was no longer necessary - a bombshell that caused a number of clearer-sighted Brethren to protest and break away.
By this time, it was too late for me to care. I was in my late teens and, to the horror of my family, left for university shortly afterwards. There I ate chips and curry for the first time, openly read newspapers and novels, drank wine, wore "normal" clothes, listened to pop music and cut my hair. Being unclean was delicious.
My mother may have disapproved but she, too, left the Taylorites then, joining instead the same sect as my father and grandmother. She is still alive, still strictly religious, but she does not shut me out of her life.
In the cult I left behind, Taylor died an alcoholic. Another "Universal Leader" stepped into his shoes, and the Brethren now even run their own schools. My heart bleeds for those children."

JW booth in Flea Market @ St. Augustine Florida
by Pterist inmy wife and i took the grand kids to a flea market in st. augustine, florida today 1/19.
after sucking down some hot dogs on a bright sunny cold day, i came across a jw booth set up with the latest mags and books, offering free bible studies.
i decided not to confront them, and spoil such a nice day, however, i will be forearmed with printed material if we go back again.. shalom.

Interesting meeting today. The DO had the last talk and he mentioned a couple of things I have not heard before :
1) The new lighter magazines are designed in a way to attract people to our website
2)The ministry will change to incoprorate preacing in town centres and and with stands as in Manhattan and certain brothers will be allocated to do this .So it is done now in a big scale ,organised.
3)The QR codes at the back of the magazines are there for smart phone users to guide them directly to jw.org ,unlike bad old internet via laptops and pc's that you have to look for the website on google and sometimes end up in enemy websites that look like our website but are spreading lies about JW's (he said exactly that!) We had 4 people who are studies at the moment and where there in the Hall today .I looked over to see the reaction and they looked puzzled .
So the way to tackle apostate websites is QR codes .What happened to good old debate I wonder ?
One thing is for sure though I never heard a District Overseer acknowledging apostate websites in such a way before ?
Who said "First they ignore us ,they they mock us ,then they fight us ,then we win "?
I think we are on STEP 3 at the moment!

Which Spirit is the God's Spirit in the 2nd Baptismal VOW?
by raymond frantz inhi guys i need some help here and wonder if any of you can offer some comments .the second baptismal question is :"do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of jehovah's witnesses in association with god's spirit-directed organization?
".
which spirit are they talking about since it is not refered to as the holy spirit?.

Any angel can be God's spirit ,as far as I'm concerned God's spirit is also Satan ,so the God's spirit anointed organisation can read also ,God's spirit=Satan anointed organisation .Is that possible?

1/15 WT- Guilt, Guilt, and More Guilt ! Black & White Cult Reasoning !
by flipper inthis particular article was discussed or touched on a couple months ago regarding the wt society's statement concerning jw's putting " jehovah above everything else- including the family bond " .
so i won't address those points in this thread, but there are many other points to address where the wt society uses guilt and black & white cult reasoning to control jw's minds with this information from the article titled, " let nothing distance you from jehovah ".
first off in paragraph 5 the wt tries to make people feel guilty looking for work and insists that if you get any job that takes you away from family- it will distance you from jehovah !

It is mind blowing how detached they are from reality having lost all credibility .They are like little babies that want attention all the time .One thing remains to be seen WHEN will someone tell them to SHUT UP in public .I forgot ,the new light says they can only attend special assemblies where only the best drones attend pre-selected ,to avoid any unwelcome surprises

Planning exit, alternative venues to preach?
by Goodstein inbackground:.
i've come to the conclusion that many doctrines of the wts are unscriptural after many years of privately disagreeing with some of them but feeling that the society was "mostly right" and still being used by jehovah.
this turning point has happened in the last year or so.

i had the same dillema and I couldn't find any church to shut me ,so I started a meetup group in my area for free thinking Christians ,first meeting 14 people turned up.I can't remember the last time I was free to talk about and debate about the Bible ,best experience so far and definetely substitutes and fills the void
